Welcome to the Grassroots Skeptics forums.We hope that skeptical individuals and groups will use this space to share information and strategies, to make connections and foster relationships, and generally help us to increase the reach of skeptical activism.
There are a few simple rules that you'll need to follow. Please note and adhere to them. Violation of these rules will result in swift, unmerciful justice.
1) Keep it civil. Disagreements are bound to occur. Let's try to keep them board room disagreements, and not middle school playground disagreements. Profanity is permitted. Creative profanity is encouraged. Arguments that focus on the character or personal characteristics of the author, rather than the content of the claim, will be deleted, unless they're really funny. Language that plainly displays hate or contempt for race, ethnicity, country of origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, eye color or other innate characteristics will be deleted SUPER hard.
2) Posting the intellectual property or otherwise legally protected work of a third party without permission is not permitted. By posting any material subject to patent, copyright, trademark or any other legal protection, you affirm that you have the legal right to do so. You further agree to indemnify Grassroots Skeptics, its officers and agents, from any liability resulting from your post, whether liability results from a violation of intellectual property, contract, tort, or any other area of the law. In other words, if you post naked pictures of your friend's mom, and she sues us, were coming after you.
3) All decision about post deletion and account banning are made at the sole discretion of the moderators. This is not a democracy. in fact, it's not a government at all, so crowing about freedom of speech or the First Amendment won't make even a little bit of difference. If you disagree with a decision of the moderators, and you can make a reasonable argument, we'll consider it. Otherwise, you'll be dealing with, or you'll be moving on. (We'll have a formal appeals process in place at some point. Stay tuned.)
4) If there even needs to be a fourth rule, it's this; don't be an asshole. Unless you're really charming and witty, and then maybe you can get away with it.*
