Hey, everybody who got to go to Dragon*Con. Here's your chance to brag about what a great time you had at Skeptrack, and convince us that we should go next year.

What blew your mind? What ruffled your feathers? Who did you meet and/or greet? What would you do if YOU ran the zoo? And what would you like to see in the program next year? Please, let us live vicariously through your experience.

First off, after signing in, the link I was directed to is wrong. Has an extra :// in it at the beginning?

Second, I'm still processing Dragon*Con :-P I wrote up my initial reactions with pictures at http://astronoise.wordpress.com/2009/09/09/dragoncon-post-op/

That post less about the skepticism itself. Again, I'm still processing that. There was so much inspiration and information, especially for being my very first skeptical event. Tim Farley's talk was chock full of information for skeptics who like to make their presence known on the internet, and tips from the blogging panel after that helped. I like that the Skeptrack was still a small enough venue for a shy girl like me to get up and ask questions. (Well, once I got less shy at the insistence of a few of my friends. Thanks, guys!) The JREF panel was also a must-see, since it also talked about how to best get out there on the local level and start small, building a group of dedicated people that have similar interests. My local skeptics group has been around for just over a year, and it's been cool to get with people and chat once a month, but I'd like to help it move beyond that to a more active group. Another very interesting panel, although it doesn't apply to me directly, was on skeptical parenting, and I think we'll see a lot more family involvement in the movement in the future. (And Heidi rocks.) Meeting and chatting with like-minded skeptics from all over is just great, and I wish we all didn't live so far away! Ah well, Twitter will suffice for now.

Well there ya go, processing started. I still have to write up my reactions as feedback for Derek and to give them a glowing review to the D*Con organizers, to make sure it keeps going.

    Thanks!
