It’s time to start planning for our next SkeptiCamp event. We’re shooting for May 2010 at OSU, although the exact date and location is still to be determined. Right now we have the session and volunteer lists open, so feel free to sign up now:
You can also join in the discussion at our SkeptiCamp Ohio Google Group, and contact us with any questions or suggestions.
We’re broadcasting and recording SkeptiCamp Ohio in a variety of different ways: photo, video, blogs, Twitter, Facebook and more. Here’s a list of where you can find us:
For sites like Twitter and Flickr, where you can tag items, please tag SkeptiCamp Ohio items as SCOH09 (don’t forget the hastag “#” for Twitter) for easy searching. If you can fit it, also add #skepticamp, so it shows up in general SkeptiCamp searches.
If you haven’t registered or signed up for a session yet, no time like right now! Still plenty of room. Later this week, we’ll begin scheduling the sessions we have. We still could use a few more, so if you’ve been considering what to do, take a look at the list of available ideas.
Since the first SkeptiCamp in Colorado in August of 2007, several others have sprung up across North America. Check out some of the most recent or upcoming events to support our fellow skeptics and draw influence for our event topics and ideas:
Also, if you’re still looking for a session topic, we have an editable Google Doc with some ideas up for grabs. Find one or leave one or both!
We have two more planning meetings schedule before SkeptiCamp Ohio:
March 28, 2009
4-6 PM
Columbus Metropolitan Main Library, Conference Room #1
96 S. Grant Ave.
Columbus, OH
April 19, 2009
2-5 PM
Panera Bread, Easton Town Center
3942 Townsfair Way
Columbus, OH
Even if you haven’t attended a meeting with the SkeptiCamp organizers or the central Ohio skeptic group yet, you’re welcome to stop by and help discuss plans for SkeptiCamp!
You can now register online – for free – to attend SkeptiCamp Ohio. If you have children, you can also register them for the Camp Quest mini-camp.
You can also see a list of other attendees (just indicate in your registration if you want to be added to the list).
